A) PATIENT HYGIENE

1. REGULAR TOOTHBRUSH

Everyday use is mandatory, ideally after every meal. The most important daily use is after last meal of the day.

Alpha Dental Clinic recommends: Medium hardness toothbrushes, and Curaprox 5460

2. INTERDENTAL BRUSHES

They can be used on any kind of prosthetic work, and they have to be used regularly (every day, best after last meal). The serrated part of the brush goes under the crown (or bridge), and the edges of the implant are cleaned. The brush needs to be pushed in and out ONLY ONCE from both sides of the implant – do NOT repeatedly push in and out!!

Alpha Dental Clinic recommends: Curaprox interdental brushes.

3. WATER FLOSSER

An absolut recommendation for everyone, and an absolute must for implant patient. Dr. Beus uses water flosser every day himself. Water flosser is very efficient and a mandatory part of hygiene for every implant patient! It even prevents Alzheimer’s disease!

Alpha Dental Clinic recommends: Waterpik Ultra WP 100, Gustala (Nicefeel) 1000 ml UV Sterilization Water Flosser on Ebay.

4. TOOTH FLOSSING

Use it in the places where it is possible. It is efficient when “new” teeth are not connected in one (bridge), but separated as natural teeth are. Example would be single crowns on implants. With big prosthetic work (All-on6, All-on-4) it is not possible to use it, as all teeth are connected.

Alpha Dental Clinic recommends: Dontodent floss, DM.

ORDER OF USE: Dental floss (or interdental brush) → regular toothbrush → Waterpik

B) HYGIENE IN CLINIC (PROFESSIONAL CLEANING)

It is necessary to undergo professional cleaning 2 to 3 times a year, with ultrasonic scaler, by a dental professional. It does not have to be performed in our clinic, it can be done by your dentist abroad.
